Principles of Design - Balance
This is an example of symmetry because if this were cut in half vertically, there would writing, one black colored circle and half of the red batman symbol would be on both sides of the poster. The symmetry provides balance to the poster in that the images create the Joker's face.
This is an example of asymmetry because Iron Man's body is mostly on one side of the movie poster and the writing is mostly on the other side of the poster. The asymmetry still provides the poster with balance because although one side is mostly his body, the other side is his outstretched hand (a point of focus that was meant to be emphasized).

Principles of Design - Scale and Proportion
The principles of scale and proportion in graphic design are related. Scale relates the size of one thing to the size of everything else around it in a piece of work whereas proportion relates each item in the piece of work to the whole piece of work itself. The picture provided shows examples of both scale and proportion.
For example:
Scale in this picture is like the relationship between the house's size and everything else around it from the trees to the wooden posts to the hills.
Proportion on the other hand is like the relationship between the size of each object in the piece of work to the whole piece of work overall.
For example:

Proportion on the other hand is like the relationship between the size of each object in the piece of work to the whole piece of work overall.

Principles of Design - Hierarchy
This is an example of visual hierarchy in art. The picture shows the different levels of social classes in modern society. The social class pyramid is arranged in order of importance (from dominant to subordinate). Notice how at the top are the heads of the country followed by politicians and heads of states going all the way down to the base of the pyramid where the general public stands. Besides following an order of importance, this social class pyramid also shows order of quantities; for example there are less politicians and heads of states (higher and smaller part of the pyramid) than there are the general public (lower and larger part of the pyramid).

Principles of Design - Unity
This is an example of unity. Artist Laurent La Gamba creatively creates a sense of unity in this supermarket scene and bolsters the idea of unity by imbedding a person right in the middle of the scene like a chameleon; in and out of plain sight at the same time.
Principles of Design - Variety
This picture is an example of variety. The different shaped and colored glass pieces contribute to the overall sense of variety in the work of art in that it makes it easy to distinguish each piece seperately.

Anything BUT normal
There is no such thing as a globally accepted "normal". There is no "normal" life. There is no "normal" family. "Normal", i think, is what YOU make of it. To everyone else it might just be different but who cares what they think? They don't live YOUR life. I'm normal in my own right but probably different from you. That's one of the great things in this world: its diversity. Normality is relative to each and every single continent, country, state, district, city, people, and individual.
I am normal in my own right but in the scope of the entire universe, I am anything BUT [normal].
